Success with printing & finishing of packaging
RHIEM Druck becomes RHIEM Packaging & Print: because the Voerde-based company no longer just prints reliably, but also develops, prints and finishes eye-catching, practical and sustainable packaging for almost all products.
Cosmetics, drinks, specialties, telephones or car accessories: there is hardly a product group for which RHIEM has not already developed and produced innovative packaging. The printing and finishing specialist is now changing its name to better reflect the breadth of its services.
“By changing our name to RHIEM Packaging & Print GmbH, we are clearly demonstrating that we develop and produce high-quality and promotionally effective packaging as well as professional marketing and sales documents for companies,” says Ulrich Treiber, Managing Director of RHIEM Packaging & Print, explaining this step. “Many consumers pick up at least one piece of our packaging every day. Folding cartons from RHIEM can be found in well-known perfumeries, telephone stores and electronics stores, but also in food and beverage stores or in the deliveries of online retailers.”
Consulting, development, production and delivery to the assembly line
RHIEM Packaging & Print not only produces advertising materials and packaging. The company also advises its customers on the selection of materials, printing and finishing methods and more efficient processes. If required, RHIEM supplies folding cartons, coffrets, blanks or shipping packaging just in time to the automated packaging lines of its brand partners. “Resource-saving, quick-to-assemble packaging with integrated fillers and inlays is just as much a part of our range of services as packaging that can be closed and opened without frustration,” explains Managing Director Dirk Nondorf.
Time is money. That is why the 100 or so highly qualified employees at RHIEM Packaging & Print are increasingly developing packaging that is easy to assemble, can be filled in a few simple steps and is enhanced and made more eye-catching by lamination, varnishing and foil or embossed printing. RHIEM also forms suitable inlays and fillers made of plastic or cardboard to ensure the safety of sensitive goods. Printing is done in offset and, more recently, also digitally. “Companies are attaching more and more importance to climate-neutral production,” observes Nondorf. “Our materials are FSC or PEFC certified on request and come from environmentally friendly production.”
History, tradition and quality
A spirit of innovation, sustainability and quality awareness have characterized the company in Voerde from the very beginning: in 1958, Franz Rhiem initially founded a machine setting shop as a supplier for printing companies and soon invested in his own printing machines. The business flourished and changed again in the 1990s, when the growing IT industry not only needed brochures, manuals and folding boxes, but also help with the assembly of products, the packaging of various components and the storage of their goods and marketing materials.
In the meantime, the print shop has not only grown into an experienced packaging specialist, but also a group of companies that employs more than 350 people and also takes care of warehousing, shipping goods, online marketing and e-commerce. Brand manufacturers, retailers and start-ups from German-speaking countries, the Benelux countries and France commission RHIEM with the development and production of packaging and with fulfillment for shipping and retail, as well as with the design of online stores and their advertising.
The versatile range of services enriches and complements the core competencies of packaging development, printing and production: “RHIEM Packaging & Print is an innovative partner for brands,” says Managing Director Treiber. “We produce everything from digitally produced small batches to large series of packaging and finish them for an effective and impactful appearance in retail.”
