Flexible integration of shipping service providers
The RHIEM Group from Voerde has signed a technology partnership deal with shipcloud, the leading German shipping service provider. The main focal points of the collaboration will be e-commerce and shipping logistics.
Voerde, 02. March 2018 – RHIEM customers have been able to benefit from the advantages of the shipcloud technology in the management of dispatch processes since the beginning of the year without having to do anything themselves. “It simply happens in the background for the online retailers and it is all part of our service for them. Since we started working together, we have ramped up the volumes which are processed through the shipcloud solution,” said Dr. Peter Lorenzi, “and they will continue to increase.”
“To be honest, we were a bit surprised when the colleagues from RHIEM approached us with a view to working together, given the breadth of their technological expertise and their innovative approach in particular. Of course we did not have to think twice about doing it. This is a wonderful boost to our profile and will enhance our credentials as a fulfillment partner for business enterprises,” said shipcloud founder and CEO Claus Fahlbusch, clearly showing his delight.
“Of course we do a lot ourselves in IT, but given the scale of our business now as a fulfillment service provider, we simply have to weigh up whether to go for a costly in-house development or see if there is someone on the market who can do it better than us. So then we found shipcloud quite quickly through the uncomplicated integration of logistics partners via RESTful API,” explained Dr. Peter Lorenzi, CEO at RHIEM.
“For us, these figures are a confirmation that our technology does not limit us to working with SMEs,” added Claus Fahlbusch, “but we also have the potential to work successfully with major online retailers and service providers in e-commerce logistics, and we are the right partner for fulfillment service providers. The potential is great and we are ready.”
