RHIEM Group now in charge of warehousing and dispatch of supporter merchandise for Schalke 04 football club
RHIEM becomes cooperation partner of Schalke 04: The popular football club from Gelsenkirchen has outsourced the logistics of merchandise to the fulfilment service provider RHIEM based in Voerde. Apart from managing the club’s e-commerce fulfillment, RHIEM will also deliver to retail customers and sales outlets of Schalke 04 across the entire Ruhr region.
Jerseys, scarves, caps, duvet covers, books, glasses and much more: fans can buy over 1000 products in the Schalke 04 colours of blue and white to show their support for the team from Gelsenkirchen. From October 2014, RHIEM will make sure that Schalke 04 supporters around the world are supplied with the club’s merchandise and thus can show their colours. “We were impressed by the comprehensive range of services around e-commerce, shipping of goods, online trading and personalisation of merchandise that RHIEM has to offer,” says Alexander Jobst, Head of Marketing at FC Schalke 04. “Another plus was the fact that the RHIEM headquarters are not too far away from Gelsenkirchen.”
As there are only 40 kilometres between RHIEM and the club’s stadium, the fulfilment specialist will be able to supply the supporter shops in the region as well as the outlets near the VELTINS Arena with merchandise several times a week in a flexible and efficient manner. RHIEM is an established fulfilment and e-commerce service provider acting for well-known brands such as L’Oreal, Remember, Verbatim and Build-a-Bear. For its clients, it manages warehousing, shipping and returns of direct sales and also supplies the retail sector. Thanks to its global network of partner companies, RHIEM can offer these services at an international level. “We are of course delighted with our new contract with such a prominent football club,” says Dr. Stefan Rhiem, CEO of the RHIEM Group. “To win this bid, we had to fend off serious competitors. This success will spur on our team who will do all that is needed to facilitate smooth operations for Schalke 04 merchandise business.”
With more than 130,000 members, Schalke 04 is the second largest sports association in Germany. RHIEM will make sure that its supporters receive the goods they order through the web shop within shortest time. In addition, it will keep the fan shops and retail outlets well stocked with Schalke 04 merchandise.
